Duncan Ferguson Buys Everton Fans Beer At Local Pubs Ahead Of Aston Villa Match

The legendary striker Duncan Ferguson bought the first round of beer for Everton fans at venues near the club’s home stadium in Liverpool Saturday morning ahead of its match with Aston Villa, according to reports and tweets, at which he paced the sidelines as caretaker manager for Everton.

The Winslow Hotel, located near the stadium, tweeted, “MASSIVE BIG Thanks” to Ferguson for “buying all our customers their first drink this morning.” 

Ferguson reportedly put money at a few pubs around the team’s home stadium and told staff to spread the news to fans that the first round of booze was on him.

The 50-year-old legend, who is known as “Big Dunc” to fans, was appointed as Everton’s caretaker manager this week while the club looks for a permanent replacement for Rafael Benitez, who was fired on Sunday. Ferguson previously served as a caretaker manager for the club in 2019. Everton lost Saturday’s game to Aston Villa 1-0.
