More Than 100,000 Vying For Miller Dive Bar Patio Set

Miller High Life is no stranger to dive bars or their popularity. After launching a Backyard Dive Bar contest in 2020 and hosting a Valentine’s Day Dive Bar Date in 2021, this beer brand has launched another dive bar contest – a dive bar patio set. 

The contest, launched earlier this month, has already garnered more than 100,000 entries, and one lucky winner will receive a set that includes a dive-inspired red wicker couch, a laser engraved table with barstool seating, a munchies machine station, and a custom pergola with all the familiar dive bar feels.  

The contest comes at a time when outdoor gatherings are at a premium, and many major retailers are experiencing shortages and delays in patio furniture inventory

“High Life has a natural connection to dive bars—some would even say we’ve become synonymous with them,” says Lucy Bloxam, brand manager of Miller High Life. “So, knowing that there’s a patio furniture shortage, and we’re at the peak of backyard beers season, we wanted to create a one-of-a-kind set that gives people all the beloved feelings of a dive in their own space.”

The brand announced the contest just over a week ago, and it ends on Thursday, August 19.

Bloxam isn’t surprised to see another High Life campaign receiving such a large number of sign-ups. “Given the success of last year’s ‘Backyard Dive Bar’ program and our recent Valentine’s Day ‘Dive Bar Date’, we’re not shocked to see such high entry numbers,” she says. 

Bloxam says that, not surprisingly, a lot of the entries hail from the Midwest, specifically, Miller’s home state of Wisconsin. “We try to provide a special solution for something our fans are needing at the time, whether it’s a dive bar escape in their own backyard or a new way to connect with family and friends,” she says. “We also are seeing a lot of entries from our home state of Wisconsin and continue to take pride in our roots in the state for almost 120 years.” 

Miller High Life has championed its home of Milwaukee and its main brewing location, recently, too, Bloxam points out. Earlier this year the brand petitioned to declare a specific portion of its brewery grounds in the city as “The Champagne of Beers Region” which became official in June after a unanimous vote by Milwaukee’s Common Council. The brand also created exclusive Milwaukee Bucks Champagne of Beers coupes to celebrate their home team’s recent NBA Championship victory.

The winner of the Dive Bar Patio Set will be announced on or around August 20, 2021 and notified via email with delivery and setup taking place before the end of the month.
