BTS, Nicki Minaj, Billie Eilish, Post Malone And Justin Bieber: 5 Songs Making Moves On The Hot 100

By News Creatives Authors , in Business , at July 24, 2021

There’s a lot happening on the Hot 100 this week, with new top 40 smashes by Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, while figures such as Blackbear, Kane Brown, Bad Bunny and Carly Pearce also send recent releases to the competitive ranking, though they don’t lift into one of the most important arenas (at least not yet).

Here’s a look at five of the most important moves on this week’s Hot 100 singles chart.

No. 1 – BTS – “Permission to Dance”

At this point, it seems like whenever BTS have a new single to share with the world, it’s bound to go right to No. 1 on the Hot 100. The band’s latest release “Permission to Dance” opens atop the most competitive songs tally in the country, thanks primarily to a massive sales frame and healthy streams. The tune is their fifth No. 1 hit and their fourth immediate ruler, and they are now tied with Justin Bieber and Drake for the second-most No. 1 debuts in history.

No. 3 – The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber – “Stay”

Speaking of Bieber, the singer is back inside the top 10 on the Hot 100 with his latest smash. “Stay,” a collaboration with up-and-coming hip-hop musician The Kid Laroi, starts off at No. 3. The tune is the latter act’s third placement in the highest tier on the chart, while Bieber has now snagged 24 top 10s. As if that wasn’t enough of an accomplishment for the week, “Stay” also marks the Grammy winner’s one hundredth Hot 100 win, and he’s now the youngest artist to hit that milestone.

No. 13 – Post Malone – “Motley Crew”

Post Malone almost collected his tenth top 10 hit on the Hot 100 with his latest single “Motley Crew,” but the track misses the highest tier on the chart by just a few spaces. The song, which is assumed to be the first taste of a new album, arrives at No. 13, snagging the third-highest debut of the week.

No. 16 – Bia – “Whole Lotta Money (ft. Nicki Minaj)”

Rising rapper Bia reaches the Hot 100 for the second time in her career with the remixed “Whole Lotta Money,” which also becomes her first top 40 hit as it starts off at No. 16. The tune benefits immensely from the inclusion of Nicki Minaj, who jumped on board and lent her talents and star power to the track, helping it launch at No. 16. The song marks appearance No. 119 on the ranking for the most successful woman in hip-hop history.

No. 39 – Billie Eilish – “NDA”

Just days before she releases her sophomore album Happier Than Ever, Billie Eilish’s latest single “NDA” finds its way to the Hot 100, and it just barely breaks into the top 40. The cut, which came with a must-see music video, debuts at No. 39, giving the teen singer-songwriter her twelfth placement in the top 40 region and her fifth such win from the forthcoming full-length.
